lol Why does this guy think Bill Gates will do anything about it.
It really is the parent's choice if anyone under the age plays this...
And what about the hundreds of other games that are far worse that the Halo series...
Bah.

yes because pressing buttons on a controller to shoot a gun that doesn't exist in a futuristic fantasy world can certainly train people to become "remarkably efficient" snipers.

i've shot guns, and i can tell you that it's (obviously) nothing like playing video games, and being good at shooting them in videogames does not improve your skills outside of them.

I was totally surprised when my skills at duck hunt didn't transfer over, I could barely hit a clay pigeon when I started out

Bill Gates is NOT the smartest target to go after... It's all smoke and no flames though. Jack Thompson isn't stupid enough to try to go after Bill Gates... No one is!

heh gotta agree there you can't really come close w/ a controller. went to the firing range w/ my friend (he's a regular... and has no anger problems whatsoever. connection? lol) and i got a heckuva sore wrist and shoulder after an hour or so

This guy is lucky that he's a lawyer. Or else his legal fees would drive him to suicide. We can only dream.

"Our mature games have a label clearly stating that the game is not suitable for gamers under 17 years of age. Like motion pictures, a rating and reasons for the rating are all we are obligated to provide to let consumers know the nature of the media. Ultimately, the decision is the parent's, but retailers should assist by enforcing the ESRB for purchases made locally. The parents should also decide if the game is acceptable for purchases made online. We are in no way responsible for an underage gamer obtaining a copy of Halo 3, just like universal studios is in no way responsible for an underage viewer seeing their R-rated movie in a theater. If retailers and parents are not going to take an active role in preventing underage sale, responsibility should not default to the manufacturer. That's just damn foolish, much like yourself."
Pwnt.

Jack Thompson just likes the attention he gets by proclaiming anything more violent than picking flowers as a horrible country-ruining problem.
