Nintendo Forecasts 35M Wii Units in U.S. by 2012 - Page 2

post #11 of 18
I don't think the Wii sales will continue at the pace they are at. I know they will pick up once their big name games come out but I'm not so sure it has lasting power for people to buy so many.

Who knows though , I myself didn't think the Wii would be so popular since I got bored of it pretty fast.

that's the whole Canadian population owning a Wii, and that's just buyers in the states! Wholly crap (in Frank Ramone voice)!

In 2012 Wii will be too old IMO and I dont think it will ever reach those numbers.

I'm rather sure that they will release "better" versions of the Wii along the way, such as the DVD version, versions in different color, and I'm sure that an HD-supporting version will come along too.

But though, the basic idea behind the Wii was finding something that was both original and fun and they hit the bullseye. So, like the NES and the PS2, they just need to run with it and keep the game designers on their side.

*Waits for his Black Wii*

They won't release an HD one. All the Wii is is a repackaged Gamecube with a fancy controller. For dev kits Nintendo actually sent out Gamecubes with Wii-motes attached.

Wii != Gamecube

The CPU in the Wii is 50% faster, the GPU is 50% faster, has 3.5 times more RAM, and has 5 times more Video RAM.
