Yeah I am... I know it was a bad port and probably rushed as well, but I still have this sinking feeling that the 8800's are not going to perform very well in DX10. I mean for DX9 they're awesome cards, I was just hoping a refresh such as the 8900's would be better optimized for DX10 since they're should be some DX10 games out around they're release.

I think the issue is the game code needs to be optimized for DX10 rather than the cards. Crysis runs fine on a X1950... so I can only imagine how good it will run on a 8800.
Once again...

Why is 55nm so much better then 65nm doesn't seam like a leap considering most of the time you half the manufacturing tech when going smaller not make it a meager 10nm smaller.

when games start getting made in dx10, there'll be better cards for it. DX10 has been out for half a year, and the way game dev is nowadays it'll be 1-2 before anything worthwhile is out to play.

That, and all of us have to eventually bite the bullet and get Vista for DX10, and most game devs don't wanna release a game for an operating system thats in the minority (I don't care what Gates says, XP is still more widely used than vista, and will be for a while)

In short - by the time it really matters if the 8800 can run good DX10 content, there'll be better cards out anyway.

HAH! Looks like I'll be getting myself a GTX for the price of a GTS!

The only thing I like about these price wars and new products is the current top-line products become cheaper, and considering that these products WILL perform exactly the same way they did when they first came out, I'm really not loosing anything (except not being "cool" ). Plus, the applications I use (be it gaming or anything else) won't change in terms of recommended requirements, i.e. if Crysis needed a dual GTX setup as recommended, it would still need the same configuration 678946794675463465 years ahead, the only difference is that instead of throwing $1200 on two GTXs I'll spend a little closer to say... $700 - $800
