LMAO, the powertech "steals the worst performing catagory from Apevia, which is no easy task". They said it couldn't even handle a 250w load.

"Then during Test #2 at 264w at 100v the units blew up damaging the Kill-A-Watt". Wow, thats pretty much like paying for something to self-destruct and take out your entire system.

The FSP BlueStormII looks cool Never heard of it, though. Good for a cheap power supply.

there was someone who was asking if they should get that exact same powersupply, and that his friend was running it with 2x 8800gtx and some other junk. i wonder what happend to his computer...

also i was wondering how it would be to change out the capacitors on a power supply. if you were to get some really good caps, wouldnt it make the psu better?

It depends... if you placed better capacitors in the psu, but the wiring was still crappy you would come to the exact same result. Psu's are only as good as their weakest component.

Lol, Powertek ftl. I figured it would have been either the FSP or the Lian-Li. Guess FSP makes good PSUs all around.
'bout time.

And for the cost of caps of that size... it would have been cheaper to just have bought a good PSU in the first place.

FSP makes the GamerXStreams are known to be a decent brand.
Once again...

I wouldn't get terribly worried about the capacitors, there are many other things in a switch mode power supply that are important to good power aside from them. If its not completely well built, why bother?

as i live by, never skimp on a PSU... which i apply by never buying one under $50 being the absolute minimum.. and only being for like a single core underpowered office computer.
