Best 24" for the $$$ - Page 2

Dell's 20-30 cheaper from manufacturer... isn't worth the savings in comparison to the Gateway. DDD

If you can spend around 600-? Gateway is the winner, hands down.

If you don't know why you shouldn't post.

The Gateway's stands are very nice, but I really prefer Dell's panels. I've seen the 2407 and the Gateway 24" side by side and the Dell just looks better.

Where did you see the Dell and Gateway side-by-side, by chance? No store sells the Dell and Gateway in the same plae.

I've had them bot connected in my home to the same video card, mirrored image. Used SpyderPro2 to tune both for illustration and graphic design and the Gateway trumped the Dell.

That's the 2406 and 2407. THe only 24" Dell I haven't had my hands on is the 2408 and I suspect it ain't enough of a difference to jump ship on the Gateway.

I've got a few well-off computer-geek buddies. I brought up my shiny new E207WFP around X-mas time, and my friends one-upped me with their new 24 inchers... got in a debate over which was better, so we decided to compare them side by side. Gateway was cool with the swiveling and the rotating and such, and the stand didn't fell creeky at all, but the 2407 looked slightly better. Again, IMO. Others might feel differently.
