POP3 Question

Thread Starter
I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird to access my POP3 account, which is through lavabit.com. I haven't had a problem with them until this morning when I went to go check my e-mail and my connection timed out. It shows that it is downloading the messages and then times out after about a minute, with no messages to show. I have the incoming server port (110) open through windows firewall, as well as my outgoing port (465;SSL). I just checked and cannot send mail either. Could their site be down for maintenance? It's been about an hour...

If you've received emails through the same POP3 before, and they haven't given you notice of any POP3 server changes, then yeah -- it's probably down.

Nothing is stated on their site about maintenance or anything... which is why I was wondering. I'm using the exact same settings I always do...

Yeah, it'll probably be down then. If it's still down in a couple days.. Then be worried. Contact them about it.

I have to agree POP3 is notorious for that exact thing. Give it some time and im sure it will come back up. My vote is for the problem being on the other side not your equip or setup
