sure is fast tho no argument there!!

if u dont plan on taking it too many places then go for it!
Your underclock is the power feature (the multiplier drops to save power). The c2d's will start throttling down the clock speed mid-90's for to save itself. Mine will idle around 33-40 degrees (ambient temp dependant), but I have 60 degrees of headroom. I don't know what the idle will be for that desktop cpu, but they do have a ton more cooling than most notebooks. So I guess we'll find out; no one has gotten their hands on one long enough to run it through the paces. I guess I'm a bit leary because past notebooks that utilized desktop cpu were getting notorious for overheating and crashing.

It's going to be fast, but not blazing. I'd be rather shocked if it out benchmarks my rig. The gpu will be the holdup since it benches about the same as a 7600GT. (edit: but you will be able to upgrade the gpu when something better comes around)

What is cool is that it is smaller, thus a bit more portable than a 17" rig and still maintains fairly robust specs like desktop replacement rigs.

btw; Corsair & Kingston have a lifetime warranty as well.

I don't expect it to be super fast, I was hoping it would be on par with the 7800, just like the 7600 was on par with the 6800. But the main thing i was looking for is the ability to upgrade to the 8800 go by the end of the year.

And hey, its better then my current system

DarkLord, I am doing a lot of research on this whitebook, I would replace my Desktop PC for it, the only thing is that if I get a laptop, I need it before July 3rd, do you think it will be out by then, the C90s barebone?
