You can certainly expect that freezer pro 7 not to function up to par. I understand that you are looking for bang to the buck but buying two coolers will be more expensive than purchasing the best to start with.

Other than that, wow, lots of features on the p5k and the sb handles my raid array nicely. Enjoy.

EDIT: Just noticed you intended this for CD so take or leave my .

I think the Vanilla is a great bang for the buck. I never really thought much of the freezer pro coolers though. I am such a waterhead thse days that I cannot keep current with the nth gneration heatpipe coolers that have come out...

I was told the AC Freezer wasn't bad.. I am also adding a hundred something CFM panaflo 92mm to it.. :|

Which cooler should I get otherwise.

I am planning on getting a rosewill SATA raid adapter or does the motherboard handle a raid array fine? I have 2 SATA DVD's so that may or may not be a problem..

Also where are these things made? I really hope not in China :\\

Taiwan FTW. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131180

The way the RAID works is kinda bizarre--since it has not ICH9R (just ICH9) there is a JMicron controller--but for some weird reason it has one eSATA and one SATA--so to set up RAID you have to run a cable frm the backplane into the case LOL.

Not sure why someone would set up an array with one external and one internal drive? Security maybe? Take the drive home and the rig at the office is useless--job secruity lol.

For RAID0+1 an inexpensive card will do okay--especially if it only has two channels.

Wow. Q6600 at 3.2Ghz is already thinking to touch the sub ram timing.
linsk, naw, i just wanna know what those settings are, or if i need to play with em and my 6400 runs at 3.8ghz... will see how this 6550 does not expecting much though.. im on stock cooling on this machine... too cheap to buy another coolor.. prolly set it at 3.2 and let it run

Understand. Nice job on your E6400. Mine is suck only at 3.4G.
linsk, that was with zalman 9700 or whatever.. i got a tuniq tower and could not get it to cool as well.. i see that ac freezer is only like $20.. i need to go check and see whats new in cooling

P.S. 3.8 was stable.. but like 1.5v.. so i keep the cpu at 3.4.. no need to push it 24/7
