6600gt memory blocks modding

so i was modding my mem blocks when i suddely thought, can this hurt my card ???????? i cut off some of the blocks with a saw so it would fit under the zlaman cooler,

You're fine. But why would you mod a Zalman ramsink to fit under a Zalman HSF? They're kind of supposed to work together with no mods, lol.

I believe in the packaging, there are two different sizes... use the right one depending on location. By cutting off the fins, you have reduce the performance of the HS by around 40%....

HS ???? and why reducing there overclock alrdy and it was like now i realised there needed to fit in better

ow srry i miss understood you, but ok yes i know it will decrease BUT, before there was nothing on my memory and now there is that 60% thats still working of those HS, or is that bullcrap ?

When you cut off part of a HS, it will be less efficient. A better choice is to buy the correct sized copper sinks.

kk i did some research and come to this,

the problem is i alrdy have the smallest.

so to not make this a big deal. simple,
i CANT get the smallest memory HS under my zalman cooler without modding!
so my Q is: will it matter is there is NO HS on or a half HS ?
