Can't Overclock P5NE-SLI...

Thread Starter
I have an Asus P5NE-SLI motherboard chipped with an E6600 C2D. When I set my overclock options in the BIOS to manul and go to overclock the FSB the entire screen shows the stock specs but they are greyed out...I can't select anything to unlock this. Is there something else I need to do or something I'm missing?

Thanks!

Can you take a picture of the bios? That would help so much. I'm not really getting the picture of what you're saying.

Well, I tried to update the BIOS to 0505 and well Asus says I need a new BIOS chip because they cannot resolve my problem.

Did you call them and have them tell you that? The EZ flash is so straight forward you should be able to...

Yes, I called Asus but the guy didn't seem to know his ass from his face. I was able to use the AWDflash utility to successfully flash the BIOS to version 0505. If I change the file name to P5NESLI.BIN like Asus says it won't read the file. If I leave the 0505 name stock it works fine. However, I still can't change the FSB & Memory Configuration under the Advanced tab. It's still greyed out...*** is the deal with that?

Thanks again

Are you sure the flash was successful? What are the rest of your system specs there sir?

Yep, flash was entirely successful. Bios version 0505 dated 03/05/07. I have an Intel C2D E6600, 600W Xion ATX PSU, 2 GB Patriot Series eXtreme Performance DDR2 800 RAM, Nvidia 7900 GT PCI-Express Graphics, 3x 250GB WD HDD (2x Raid 0, 1x Secondary Backup), Asus P5NE-SLI motherboard, Windows XP Home, 2x LG DVD/RW Combo Drives. Not sure what else to add but if you need any more specs let me know.

Any other suggestions for the day as to why my BIOS >> Advanced >> FSB and Memory Timings screen would be non-optional to change the settings?... Other than getting a new BIOS chip?

Thanks
