My gigabyte 7600gt silent OC'ed like a mofo and stayed cool just fine... also this will be a 65nm chip. I'm not sure, but I think you guys may be proved pretty wrong here.

This isn't going to be a monster seller for sapphire but it does hit that niche in the market for HTPC. If it gets put at a decent price point i think it will do well

Actually, i'd have to say that ElMike is commenting more on you and others repeatedly saying ATI's stuff is gonna flop more than you just simply giving us news.

Yeah, ignore ElMikethemike, he is just angry that ATI/AMD is getting squashed at the moment.

AS for this, I think it may just be good. I was waiting for this, and who knows, the HD 2650xt would be a nice card, no? I mean, the specs look like that it could possibly kill the 8600gts, but that could also be a dream. Lol.

Anyway, thanks for the info, and just ignore Mike.

Wow, that's awesome. For the average person, it will be quiet, pretty decent graphic wise for what they'll use it for, DirectX10, and an affordable price, and with HDMI.

Gaming isn't the biggest market for graphics card.

So how many passive 65nm cards have you owned? I can answer that one.

So instead, how many passive mid-high range cards have you owned?

I've owned two, the Gigabyte X800XL silent, and the 7600GT silent. Both performed beautifully and OC'ed just fine. I am wondering where you based your opinion that the card will be a flop... is it because it is an R600 derivitave, or because it is passive? If it is because it's passive then I firmly believe you are wrong, and if because it's an R600 derivative then you are guilty of exactly that which you were accused of by Mike.

edit: also, look at the cooler... it looks like with good case airflow it should handle a pretty hefty OC, especially if this card runs as cool as I am thinking it will.
