x1900GT install. Onboard graphics headache. HELP!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong

I checked for any old drivers for a past video card that might have been installed. None. (except the Intel Graphics media accelerator)

Here's a picture of the device manager and most of the add/remove programs window.

I then popped the ATI cd that came with the card in and installed.

I disabled onboard graphics in bios and it still only sends a signal through the onboard.

The video card is seated. I might try reseating it again I guess but it's in there pretty good.

It's not popping any 'new hardware detected' when I restart.

have you plugged in the 6 pin PCI-E power from the PSU?

Well I don't necessarily want to uninstall the only thing that I can use for display at the moment.

I'm pretty sure it's not necessary.
