G92's in late 2007 - Page 2

So what I'm gathering from this is that there is going to be no 8900 or 9000 refresh?
That kind of sucks because I was going to go with a pair of 8900's (figuring that would have been released shortly after the r600) and donate my 8800's to my little brother.
Well this sucks

im still going to get myself a 8800GTX...

i had my 7900GTX for a year, then sold it to get a 8800GTX...

i have no problem doing this same thing again...

sell my 8800GTX in a year to get whatever flagship G92 comes out... not a problem...

wow nvidia running over ATI just like Intel running over AMD... that really stinks man. but why would they do that? they are making so much money off of the 8800's it wouldn't help much to release something better untill ATI comes out with something better because the 8800's are selling fine.

Well the reason ram prices were so high was because of collusion. Hynix, Samsung, Infineon, and Elpida made a deal together to keep prices as high as possible in order to increase their profits. They were then caught and fined $729,000,000 and prices went down to what they should have been in the first place.

i keep telling myself (dont even buy a dx10 card) just wait until late 2008-early/mid 2009....

hoping to see some stuff like...

4gb ddr3 sticks at insane speeds in dual channel (total 8gb)
dual socket mobo intel/amd and quad/octo core cpu's
and sli/cf with some killer gfx cards!

oh. and u cant forget like.... super sized hds or like ssd drives. that and a killer case....

thats what il be holding out for. that and the cash

maybe by then these gpu's will be down in price that would be nice. i mean... who needs the bleeding edge gfz card setup when the cpu will bottleneck it. go with the best u can without spending a fortune for no improvement gain....

but then again... i just might starve myself for the next 8-18 months to build a new rig sooner.....

*compares food vs new bleeding edge pc* *cant make up his mind *

my idea with this pc. was: buy it bleeding edge, use high res and detail. then as the games get more demanding lower the res/detail until u cant stand it no more then buy a new rig and i think it is a good way of lookin at it.... maybe we should all take my advice ?

nice link btw. now i cant sleep j/k i prob wont anyhow...
