3.4 @ 4.2 can now only hit 4.0

Thread Starter
title describes itself. i was running a p4 prescott 650 (3.4) @ 4.2 for a few days, decided to turn it down to 4.0 for cooling purposes. i have a new heatsink that works much better and i wanted to up it back up to 4.2 but for some reason the computer wont boot when i try to set it back to 4.2

its running 236x17 right, it takes 248x17 to hit 4.2. how do i get my poor little pressy back up to 4.2?

What else did you change?

BIOS?
Memory multiplier?
Some other bios option?

Electrons either saturating the semiconductor or actually even surfacing..... translation......permanently damaged.

Edit: Btw, I think the actual term is "electron migration"

lol.

the ram timings are 4-4-4-10, i set pci-e to 100, c1e, eist and stuff like that are all disabled. i tried using many different vcores, all the way up to 1.525 and i prettty much figured out that the vcore wasnt effecting it. permanent damage is baaaad.

memory muliplier is at 2, i have a 1:1 fsb/ram ratio

Try upping vDIMM voltage? Btw, are you trying to go straight back to 248x11 or whatever? Up in small MHz increments.
