Woohoo....finally broke 10k on 3dmark

Thread Starter
Just barely, but there are 5 digits there, and it counts. Hit 10,018 with CPU running 3.075ghz, and GPU core at 614.26.

Why do I care? I really don't know.

Thanks guys....I just hit 10,250 with a minor gpu tweak. Call me nuts, but I think this processor and the 8800 make a nice combo.

You better believe it! I have an 8800GTS 640MB paired with an E6600, and I get a hair over 12k! I lucked out with a card that allows me insane memory overclocks (2210MHz)

Crank that CPU up. 3.075GHz isn't all that thing has

Your RAM is probably holding you back... right?

RAM and the PSU/case combo, I'd say. I run into temperature issues over 3.1, and the vcore is somewhat unsteady. I need better ventilation, cleaner power and some PC800 memory. I should be able to swing that in the next few weeks.

Yeah, the Sonata isn't the best case for the 9700... The 9700 needs very good airflow, but then it's a darn good cooler (no matter what other people say... I have one and it gives the Tuniq Tower good competition )
