Serious issue with my X800

Thread Starter
I have an issue with ALL games that I try to play.

I havent been gaming for a while so it hasnt been an issue, but the last few times I have tried to play a game i have been slapped in the face.

Every game I have tried from CS:S all the way to Battlefield Vietnam runs smoothly for about 30 seconds, then drops the 0 FPS, chunks along like a sideshow for about 20 seconds, then returns to normal. This cycle repeats.

What in the world is going on?

P4 3.0 HT
Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO
1.5 gigs ddr3200
All watercooled.

I have virtually no processes chewing down my memory.

Help me!!

You can try updating your drivers, the 5.12/5.13 drivers worked best for my x800.

Also check your temps with ATi Tool or something.

Sounds like a driver issues to me. You might have out to date drivers or drivers with other hardware that are conflicting. How long has your gfx card been acting up?

The temp on ATI tool is on the main screen like this....

Is your VRam overheating? im assuming it at least has some sinks on it correct? you might try increasing the airflow with a desck fan or something, and try it with the door off.

As for drivers, delete them via Add/Remove programs tehn boot in safe mode and run Driver cleaner pro for everything pretaining ot ATI then boot in normal, install your drivers etc...

I have Version .26 of ATI tool and it doesn't display like yours does..

My VRam has heat sinks and heat has never been a problem before. Case door is off right now with the fan still blowing into the case.

I will try the drivers next.
