That's all I could get on the X1900's. They weren't good overclockers, while the 8800 I have now rocks.

But still, I did beat my previous Crossfire set up

Ah, you got a couple dogs, I see. It should beat them at those clocks.

I've had one xt do 720 max stable and my XTX do 770 max stable. I guess I got lucky. (And I was pissed off at the crappy XT after my 760+ card before it)

They would clock a little better on their own, but in Crossfire, it didn't clock as well..

However, I am happy

Even if Crossfire beats the single 8800GTS, it probably won't be much more than 5%-10%... in that case, the 8800GTS is the better pick: cheaper, single card (thus possible to SLI later), and DX10.

Well if you are considering wanting to keep these cards a while then the 8800GTS would be better as it is indeed more future proof.
