Hello. I am going to get a new motherboard to overclock my E6300. I am wondering which motherboard would be better for overclocking my E6300?
I was also thinking about getting this ram. please let me know what you think.

I will probably be getting this in the future also

I would get the dfi 965-s if you could find it but thats just me,

Out of those two I would get the asus, dont really care for the s3/ds3 boards

The Quadgt is a good alternative also but with that chip i think the dfi would hit the high fsb very easy with a few tips i could give ya

EDIT: Oh and look into the P5K for asus, that thing is a monstor fsb board and is relatively cheap and instock at several places, forgot about that thing, definatly consider it, and i would wait for CD to finish his review for a hometeam review of the mobo

I think they are pretty good, i know the plus version is suppose to oc like the p5b-d, did you think about maybe the p5ne-sli, i know its a different chipset but alot of people here have it and the open box is about the same price

If you are willing to get an open box, look for the Biostar TForce965PT

Open box on newegg they sell for $52 and are known to do 500FSB. Not the most feature packed board in the world though.

I've used them in builds for family members and just picked up another open box for my soon to be HTPC build.

Do those open boxes come with everything most of the time or what? Cause I am looking at an Open Box P5B-Deluxe..

By the way Whodie, that is the BIOSTAR 945 chipset for 52 bucks, not 965. Hope you didn't buy the wrong mobo...

The P5B Dlx is the best if your looking at getting the highest FSB possible.
Very nice!

I agree with him but the DS-3 is a nice board with the new BIOS. Also heard that ABIT Quad GT is nice on FSB overclocks too. ASUS has great boards as well as the history and service to boot go with an ASUS and you wont be let down but its your call if you get the open box should come with all the stuff but getting it online?????

GIGABYTE is good but ASUS are the best, the P5B-Deluxe is IMO the best and then there's the P5B-PLUS which is also as good of an overclocker as the P5B-Deluxe, and less expensive because it lacks some of the fancy added parts and no 8 phase power change but still a good overclocker.
