I can't raise the multiplier on my X6800 over 11 with my DFI 680i! What is the deal?

From what I can find, that looks right. It is unlocked from 6-11.

No, the X6800 is unlocked from 6-60 but the board won't allow it...

I think the upper limit is between 20 and 24 not 60. I have not used that board, but the X6800 I had on an Asus board required that a BIOS setting be changed to unlock the multiplier. Poke around through all of the sub menus and see what you can find. Also, if you have not done so, update the BIOS to the newest version and do a CMOS clear.

Erm......60 Multiplier? No. Thats not right

that would mean that to get 4GHz you would have to use 66FSB lawl.

It is unlocked to 11 and below only.

No, I am absolutely 110% positive it is unlocked way above 11. My EVGA board ran it at 13 with stock vcore and 14 was what I decided on. It goes FAR above 11.

Nah, you can definitely raise the multi. As I think on it, I believe the cap is 23.

When I swapped from my old X6800 to an E6600, I (intentionally) did not clear CMOS, and for one reboot, I was able to raise the multi on the E6600.

He is correct. The X6800 is the "Extreme" edition and has an unlocked multiplier, both up and down. Many sources confirm this, here is one.

You most likely need to fiddle with BIOS settings to allow you increase your multiplier. A lot of motherboards wont let you do things like this until you change a setting that will allow you to. (Sounds weird but it's true.) If there is no setting then try clearing your CMOS by removing the little battery for a few minutes.

If that doesn't work, an update of your BIOS will probably be required.

Edit: I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with your motherboard, so don't worry.
