Resolution Options - Page 2

Native resolutions on most 19" LCDs is 1280x1024. Don't bother going higher because the only thing you will get out of it is a dead monitor. If Vista gave you the option to go higher, then I say it was a Vista bug (Vista does tend to do weird things with hardware afterall).

Oh no don't do 1600x1200, force the res you want 1280x960.
That is a res your monitor can support.

well thats something wrong with source then because it should be allowing you to pick loads of different res's.

try in the launch options ( right click the game in the steam main menu )

and type this in

-w 1280 -h 960

that should force the game to run at 1280/960

This reply might be to late... but I had a similar problem in the past, I only had 2 or 3 different resolution options in Windows XP.

It turned out that I my monitor driver was not installed. It was set as "Default" monitor. As soon as I installed "Plug and play monitor, all the different resolution optoins became available.

If your monitor driver is set as Acer... try installing the Plug and Play monitor driver instead.
