Looking for Good Affordable AM2 Cooler

Thread Starter
I use a Brisbane, so temps are really that much of an issue (heck I got 3 GHz stock cuz I own so hard...) However, I want to be able to shoot higher than 3 GHz and perhaps run it 24/7 as well, so I need a better cooler to pump up teh V017z! I looked at the Enzotech Ultra-X (which you can see I thought I had decided on in my sig) but it's a bit pricey, and I honestly don't think I would need the absolutel best AM2 cooler there is. I would rather not get a BT VX if I have to lap it to get decent temps, but if the VX is flatter I may consider it.

So, what's the best AM2 cooler under $50?

I have the VX, it's not lapped and I have my sempron 2.8GHz @35-36°C load with 22-24°C case temp.

I like the zalman9700 Its cheaper than the TT120...on some cpus it is actually better cooling...although the TT120 beats it on most by 1-3 degree's...its better for windowed cases because it has a led (either blue or green) and personally I believe it looks better even without the led's...if u want to spend more for a tiny bit more cooling go with the tt120...if not then get a zalman9700led

Well I ended up actually buying the Enzotech. Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I hear the temps for these coolers are really sweet, and it comes with an Ultra fan and AS5... so it should be good. Plus it comes lapped sweet.
