Huge fps change in drivers

Thread Starter
Ive been using 7.4 and warcat 7.4 drivers /w ATT tweaks, for a while now, but since in between that time i made a transition of xp to vista and back to xp again, i didnt not tice the performance drop till i looked at my ati tool fps

i was running on 250 fps in ati tool and b4 it was 500+, i also noticed that i i had to run all my games at much lower settings
i went back to omega 7.1 drivers and it was still crap then i went to regular old catalyst 7.3 drivers and my ati tool fps went from 250 to 500+ again
now i can run games like company of heroes at higher settings

does anyone else get higher frames on catalyst 7.3 drivers?

Did you change your processor multiplier or FSB anywhere in there? When I ran 400x8, my graphics card got about 1/2 as much frames per second as it did at 356x9, where it gets full frames, yet it's the same clock speed on the processor.

With ATi Tools I think the frame rate is also dependant on the Windows that you have open, close everything and see what the fps is, then start opening other things.
