Is my Cooling Overkill? - Page 2

Your chip might struggle to hit 3.5ghz.

just because you cool something doesnt mean it will overclock as high as other chips.

I don't think ur cooling set up is overkill, and i dont think there is a such thing overkilled cooling on a overclocked cpu, and i think i have the rights to say that, because i once had 24 fan inside my mid tower case on my xp 2400+ system. i had too many lights, and fans, and random accessories, i even had to put on another psu to power just the lights and the fans.

thats 24 fan on the INSIDE of my mid tower case fully closed. one of the fans was a industrial fan so it was blowing 150+ cfm, and i had a switch for that one because it sounded like a jet plane. i wouldl turn it on once in a while for a few mins to just cool the pc down. but anyways.

i would say your forgetting soem fans. not all your fans shoudl be exhaust. u need some CAI fans. COLD AIR INTAKE - hahah anyways. the arctic fans can only be mounted in one direction, so get some other fans for intake. then you will be happy with your temps.

No thats not overkill at all...Most performance WC'ers have a lot of high cfm fans and other air cooling in the cases...I have 4 108cfm Sunon and 4 115cfm Panaflo just on my rad...I have holes cut in the back of my mobo tray with little 40x10mm fans blowing on the back of my cpu ram and volt regs...3 120mm case fans plus another 4 or 5 spot fans blowing on things....

Thanks, I'll look into that. I just want a good processor, then I'll be happy. So I can overpower my friends in power of the computers! MUHAHA

No such thing as too much cooling.

I will be more stable and cooler.

However definitly overkill but worth it
