Memory Clock won't go above 1650?

Thread Starter
As above, im using NVtray and ATItool. On both when I up my Memory clock speed to above 1650 it just instantly drops back down to 1650 when I run the test or Artifact test?

In running a PNY 7600GS 256mb, my current saved max OC is:
625/1650.

ATItool doesnt seem to save the changes yet if I go into NVTray and change the clock speeds and save there, then go back to ATItool it will show at the new settings?

So anyway I digress , why cant I take the memory any higher?

Sorry if its a stupid question as this is my first attempt on OCing anything and I thought id try it on the cheapest component first!

Thanks in advance
Nick

Yep.
Did you make sure you applied the settings so the OC will stick?

Neither program will let me apply the change above 1650 without doing a test. As soon as I click test it goes back down?

When you say nvtray do you mean the nVidia control panel?

Close out nvtray or whatever it is.
Use Atitool, open atitool> settings> overclocking> and check the apply clock immediately after moving slider.
Just bump it up about 10mhz at a time and see if the clock sticks, have 3d view open while you do it.

Nvtray may have some kind of safety range on clock speeds, IDK though.
Good Luck
