F.E.A.R. Issues...

Thread Starter
A friend asked me for F.E.A.R. the other day. I began thinking why I had not purchased the game already. F.E.A.R. is a kick ___ game. I only buy kick ___ games.

So I'm playing it for the first time with this workstation I have now.

When I jump, press the Use key, or go into Slo-Mo, I get a horrible sound coming from my speakers. But it doesn't always happen. Only when I'm around a squad of enemies. Or so it seems.

Also, at times, the game all of a sudden runs a little choppy. I don't know what causes this decrease in FPS. I do know I had this problem with my other system (Prescott4Ghz/7800GS/DDR500/RAPTOR.raid). Sometimes I've noticed it happening after I open the menu.

EAX/3D is off on the X-Fi software. I tried turning the sound settings down in the game. There's no update for my X-Fi.

Anyone else ran into these problems?

I've had issues similar to this. Addressing instability with the cpu (by lowering my oc) and updating the bios took care of it for me.

Try setting page file to 0 if you haven't already since you got more than enough RAM.
