Bios Revsion and still Shutting down b4 restarting!

Thread Starter
Hi heres the link to the original thread...http://www.overclock.net/search.php?searchid=318132
but pc shuts down, then powers back up again to go into windows...this is bad becuase I have changed the bios with the hope that I could disable EIST but to no avail ? anyone please have any insight as to what is causing the system to power down before restart? I hope that a capacitor does not need to be soldered onto the board...I have an ASUS p5WD2 (not Premium) and an ES D950 that shuts down normally when set to stock...when overclocked she powers down, then restarts with the adverse effect of eventually corrupting my MBR !! awww please guys anyone can help id be so grateful!

It could be your PSU, i've seen that alot before. Especially with the ones that don't have a power switch on the back.

It can be PSU not being able to handle an overclocked CPU.
Can be ram, have you run memtest?
