Push and Pull fan rad question...

Thread Starter
hi all, well i have a Hw labs 480GTX rad with yate loons on it in a pull config.
I was thinking of getting some Nice Panaflo fans.
My question is.
I want to set the Panaflow to pull and loons to push.
Do you think that will decrease perfomance since the loons are a lower CMF than the Panaflow?
Stats for the 2 fans:
1)120mm Yate Loon D12SL-12 Blue (38.5 CFM, 25.4 dBA)
2)NMB-MAT (Panaflo) 120MM Hydro Wave Bearing Fan 1700RPM 68.9CFM 30DBA W/SENSOR 120X120X38MM

thanks.

IMO the fans should match as far as cfms go. Since they are so close to each other, different cfm fans on either side may cause some turbulence.

I dont think it would, think about it, if i put just the Panaflow's pulling, no matter what it will be worse than the Panaflo's pulling and loons pushing...
the loons will help the Panaflo's a little bit, and then the Panaflo's will just suck the rest of the air from between the Loons.

am i wrong?

Yeah I always match mine across the rad for that reason...Don't know if it really makes a lot of difference or not but it seems like it would...

EDIT: Yeah I think it would just restrict the Panaflo's...

I ask the same question to performancepcs.com his name was Jame there water cooling guy. He told me it will better your cooling, but lose life of your fans. Now I would think if you have 2 different CFM fans it would push the other ones to hard. I know the fans you have a rated very good, but James told me to check out the Scythe "Minebea NMB Silent IC Series model#4710KL-04W-B29-V52/1,900rpm/31.0dBA/75.9CFM/2Ball Bearing(180,000hours of life)

Or get some from Cyber Silentx 120X25 78cfm OR THE 120X38 90cfm

WoW you read my mind dude!!! i just placed an order from Petra's and included one of those Scythe "Minebea NMB" just to try them out!!
They look like some pretty nice fans, with great CMF/DBA ratio.
Dont like Silenx fans, donno why, would rather go with Panaflo or these Scythe

lessen the life huh...hmmmm
but it does perform better right?

You would be better off sticking with 120x38mm fans They have a lot better pressure for rads....

I have question what about Turbine Fans Would they have better sucktion? over ordnary fans (7 blade)

http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool-120mm...3000-blue.html

Also what do you think about Magnetic Barometric Bearing type fan?
They have poor air flow but i don't think this fan will ever die.
And removable fan blades makes really easy to clean you rad.
