well i just bought some 120x38mm Silenx fans from Cyber, $90! LOL, hope they are good, they have 90CMP with 18DBA.....
I have no idea why turbine fans are better, they use them on aircraft, so they must be better...LOL
And yup that magnetic is easy to clean, but performance wise, not really.
And also, honestly!! do you really need a fan or keep a fan for...ummmm...FOREVER!! LOL

You'd have to look at the Panaflow's PQ curves (not their CFM rating!) and the air resistance of the rad to deternine how much air the Panaflows actually pull through the rad.

If the Panaflows can move more air through the rad than the CFM rating of the Yate Loons, then the Loons won't help.

Yeah I like the 480 to its a great rad....I forgot to turn my little rad fan PSU on the other day it it was doing idle at 16C with a 320W Pelt in the loop thats amazing to me....

Yeah you really need to know what the fans pressure rating is...It's easy to find for the Sunon and Panaflo because they are lab grade and industrial fans and they have to be up to spec's....They are really honest with the db rating to I've seen fans rated at 25 db or so that are louder the the 108 Sunon and the 115 Panaflo are...

yup your right, but ive really heard some good things about these Silenx and decided to give them a try!
Have you tried them before?
NICE on the temps!!! dam that pelt is working out great for you!!
Those 108 and 115 fans are so loud though lol!!!
lets see if these Silenx are really 18DBA

This is an Intresting thread, it got me intrested in Turbine Fans. And I think (and hope) that Aerocool Turbine Fan can out perform Panaflo fan in pull set up with a rad.
I base this on my deep thinking. Turboprop planes are propelled by the propeller now Turbofan planes are propelled by the exhaust. Therefore the purpose of teh Turbinefan in TurboFan engine must be to suck in as much air as possible into the compressor. Conclusion TurbineFan has better suction and Propeller Fan has better... um... propulsion?

hmmmm, i dont know about that, i guess it also comes down to pressure..
Since it is going to be used to be pulling air from the rad, and thus a turbo fan has to to the pressure high in the turbo compressor chamber for it to propell out the exhaust like that. Also all those blades will keep the air from escaping out the front when under massive pressures in the compressor chamber.
Im guessing turbine are better for rads and propeller is better for free flow, according to aeronotics that is LOL.

Well I am using 4 SilverStone FM121 CFM110, but I do not keep them on that high maybe 70%. But on full speed very loud drives me nuts. I am trying to build a single 250mm shroud. I picked up this 250mm fan from PerformancePcs.com for my quad rad. Here are the specs for the 250mm fan.

here is a nice pic

TurboFan does not propell exhaust, exhaust propells the engine. The way the TurboFan engine is build, it doesn't not allow the exhaust to go the other way (front). That's the reason why I think that Aerocool Turbine 3000 doesn't have good pressure nor airflow.
