8800gtx + Swiftech MCW60 = 670/1000 & 39C Load

Ok, I've had quiet a number of cooling experiements on my 8800 and they have all been progressively better.

First
Stock
Idle 60C
Load 83C

Stock plus slot cooler
Idle 55C
Load 77C

Thermalright HR-03 plus
Idle 41C
Load 51C

And Now.....
Swiftech MCW60 with HR-03 plus mem sinks

Not as pretty as a full coverage block, but with this performance I'll take it

Anyhow, I think I finally landed on my cooling solution After the HR-03 plus I was questioning if I would even see any improvement, I mostly bought the block because I was already going to go water and figured it would be nice to get that heat out of the case. But in addition to the great temps my daily OC increased to 670/2000 and I've run up to 677/2000 before I finally had an error.

Not bad I thought

You couldn't go further than 1000MHz on the memory? Is it the RAM Sinks that limit it?

Maybe he hasn't tried?

670/1000 at 39 load is very respectable, good job and beautiful radiator set up.

Do you think 2x 360's is necessary for a twin loop through a G80? I was thinking of a 240/360 on a G80 GTS 320, but I don't want to do it if the radiator won't support the loop.

Thanks guys, sorry for the late response havn't checked in a while.

I've always just left the mem clock at 1000, I could probably push that quite a bit more, but it felt pretty good right there.

I've also done some changes to my watercooling system, I currently have one loop for my E6600 and a second one to cool my NB and 8800, the 8800 temps went up by 1C adding in the NB, but it's running so well it doesn't even phase it.

Here is a little update, now with two pumps. Yeah the dual mcr320s are overkill, but that allows me to run ultraquiet yate loons and still maintain coolant temps only 1-2C above ambient, so it's worth it.
