Have SLI? Read this.

Ok, my tests have been done. I was testing the max core and mem of both cards in SLI when I realized one could be better but still not knowing what to use the information on. So I removed each one and tested the other to the max of core and mem, wrote that down, then did the same with the other card. I'll just label them by what sticker I put on them to better reference them.

8800 FTW
MY BIG F'N GUN

FTW can clock to 661/1034 max
GUN can clock to 656/1016 max

SLI enabled with monitor plugged into GUN 656/1016 max (3dmark score of 16671)
SLI enabled with monitor plugged into FTW 656/1034 max (3dmark score of 16697)

I got a slight improvement in performance through this. Basically, plug your monitor into the card with a higher mem clock. Hope this helps some people achieve that little bit of performance from their cards. This could be used on ATI's Crossfire i'm sure.

Cheers Kyle

try restarting it and doing it again - 3DMark varies by about 3% every time you run it

I just thought I'd point out that when you enable SLi the core and memory clocks automatically downclock to the speed of the lowest card.
