My PC need more power?

Thread Starter
Well, like 2 weeks ago a buy me new hdd sata... I installed it with my other ide maxtor, ide dvd writter, c2d e6400, 7900gt, 4 80mm fan, 1 120mm fan, 1 pci air extractor, all in my s3! and my power supply kimpro 500W that comes with my case!

All my fans have leds, and my case front also have leds for buttons...
But now my front leds dont bright... all they are off... some of my fan leds have like shut downs....

Also when i insert any cd in my dvd writter my PC becomes a P1... it go so slow... sometimes i have to restart!

But I can play normally my games! and make my homeworks...

What do you think it could be? Bottlenecking something? or my power supply is at limit? Or my dvd writter is at its last day of life?

What can I do to know what is happening?

Kimpro...? I'm pretty sure it's your PSU.

But before you jump ahead, have you checked for spyware or virus' or anything?

EDIT: Zomg! 1000th post!

You should never use the PSU's that come with cases.

I think you need a new PSU.

You think if i disconnect the fans... I can see if the problem is the PSU?

I vote DVD drive.

Because on the desktop your PSU is only using like 100W. If your computer is only slowing down when you enter in a disk, its your DVD-ROM.

If It plays games fine then its not your PSU... Because thats where it uses the power.

Your computer doesn't use much power on the desktop, or when entering in a disk.

That's why you never go cheap on a PSU, so you don't have to deal with problems like this in the future.

Try just unplugging your other hard drive and see if that speeds things up and maybe your cd-rom drive also.
