I remember i was at 74C w/ my old P4 3.8GHz pressy.. but then i shut it down hella fast lol..

I got it from 3 to 3.5 on stock cooler and vcore and load with dual prime95 is just under 50

asus pc probe says mobo temp too high. Is that the nb or sb that sets the sensor off???

45oC for mobo, too hot??

The overheat feature is set in the motherboard BIOS or software, such as in PCProbe which there you can set the max temp the system/CPU can get to and then it shuts down automatically.

P4 531s were different than 530s, the 530 (unless it's a 530J) weren't that cool, specially with the stock cooler but from the start of the power saving features implemented in the CPU, things changed.

I had a 630 that did 27c idle, just like my Northwood 3.20ghz. Loaded both were under 48c.

put a couple extra 80mm fans blowing across the NB/SB and you will be fine
