Voltmodding the 1900 seems complicated, compared to the 7900. Either way, the performance increases in real gaming scenarios will be small, even with voltmods. Both cards are about the same in terms of raw performance, and both OC to about the same levels (the 7900 OCs a bit more, but nothing that will destroy the 1900). Get the cheapest one.
That cooler is among the best, by the way. I think a Zalman vf900 would be a little better.

Yes, that's one of the best GPU coolers.

With a 1800xt i get 648 core and 847 mem. I don't think that a later revision and the 1900gt will do worse than mine...

They're different cores, and as such will overclock differently.

I would go with the 8600 it beats out both thows card and its not that much more, but if you realy had to choose i would go with the 7900 beacuase it does overclock better and nvidia rockes.
***? Are you kidding? A 7900gs FTW, a little 1.4v mod and you'd be sitting around 650mhz for the core no problem. Just for the record, Evga uses the same RAM on most of their 7900's...gt or not. I would only pass on the 7900 for a 1950xtx.

The 7900GS without a voltmod can hit generally around 600/850....voltmod it and throw on a cooler and you can go around 750/920 or something and be smoking.

However is it worth the extra 30 bucks? Not to sure that's your call.

800 without a voltmod? I seriously doubt that is the norm. Most GSs I've seen cap out at 600-650 at stock voltage, 700 maybe under very favorable conditions. On top of that, many peeps that have done the voltmod have experienced some kind of degradation over time, forcing them to revert to lower clocks. No, 600 on the core is a safe bet under stock conditions; 700-750 with voltmod.

It's core/mem...

My 7900GS is sitting at 550/900 right now. I need to do a vmod since Leadtek leaves their cards at stock settings(voltage too) if I want to go any higher.
