GTX480 and PA.120.3 pressure drop?

Hi guys i was wondering if anyone knew of an article or test that measured the pressure drop as liquid moved through these 2 rads?

Well Apollo I don't know of any off hand...I can tell you that when I switched from a V-6 with a BIX 240 to the 480 GTX with the V-8 I only dropped 1 psi on my gauge....And I have a lot more tubing on this loop with the free standing 480 I made it long enough that I can slide it around out of my way when I'm working on stuff..So I went from 3gpm to 2.7gpm...So I would say the rad is as free flowing as they claim or at least close....

I was interested in this too, and just stumbled across this for the PA:

Been a while since I converted pressures, but this page:

Says to convert inches to psi multiply inches by .4912. Not sure if that's right, but at 2 gal/min the PA 120.3 would have 10 in of loss or about 5 psi?

That's quite a bit..maybe I messed up

The MCR320 is about 1psi@ 2gal/min, but I wouldn't think there would be that much difference.

Then again, I'm not believing specs much anymore...I'd much more trust a real world flow rate test.

Your best off not to trust in the reviews anymore either most are biased and written by company reps its big money nowadays....

Yeah, that's true.

The only thing I've tested is my loop with one or with two MCR320s.
Both test ran 3 gallons of water and were within 2 seconds of each other so that was my own test to conclude I'm not really hurting flow running both rads.

I wish manufacturers would post some real world testing results rather than pressure drop and thermal resistance that doesn't do much for the end user.

Oh well...all part of the challenge I guess..

Or we could trust each other and send them out for review. The only person I would trust with my stuff is Ira-k or CD most likely. Ira-k would be better to review the WC gear though.
