whats the best graphics card to get for my pc?

Thread Starter
I'm looking to put a better graphics card into my computer. This pci isn't cutting it on WOW and CS. I was hoping to get like a 128mb AGP card. I have 2 AGP slots in my comp one is a universal agp slot and one is a 2X or 4X or maybe an 8x not sure though. What would be the best card to get for less then 50 dollars? Thanks.

The most powerful AGP 8x card available is the ATi x1950Pro

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102071

As far as I know, an 8x card should work in a 4x slot, jsut at a slightly lower speed.

EDIT: I think you are confusing the "AGP" slot on the bottom with an AMR Modem Riser slot. They AMR slots and AGP slots are usually the same colour.

If you download Everest Ultimate it will tell you what slots you have in your computer.

It will work and there shouldn't be much of a performancde difference, but there would be bottleneck with his processor.

If your talking about the long slot that isnt like an AGP or pci slot, no I believe this is an agp slot I have looked at some pictures on the net to figure out what type they are. I'm almost certain the top is a universal and the bottom is a 2x or 4x.
