WRT54GL help?

Thread Starter
Hello all. I purchased a Linksys WRT54GL because of it's ability to be flashed with different firmwares allowing it to be overclocked (and other functionality added). I realize that some this firmware is Linux based, and thus this scares me. Couple of questions:

Do I have to have Linux installed to:
- flash the modem, and
- manage the settings of the router (ie.e port forwarding, apps settings, overclocking)?

Can anyone point me to a good tutorial for flashing this router?

I have a Linksys wireless card (WMP54GS) and a D-Link Card (DWL-520+). Will they connect to a modded router as usual?

no the modem is able to run the linux based software

If you go ddwrt they'll ask which os you're using

And sometimes wireless routers/cards are picky with other companies, but I have a Linksys router, a broadcom adapter and a zonet adapter and all are working fine
