DDR2 800 Question

Thread Starter
I have a Gigabyte n650i DS4 board that is rated to run at a base FSB as high as 333 MHz (1333 MHz effective). My e6320 is running at 2.33 GHz, but I have pushed it as far as 2.62 GHz in the past. I have DDR2 800 RAM installed. I was wondering if raising the base FSB to 400 MHz would increase overall system efficiency? Since DDR generally operates at twice the base FSB I thought performance would improve more than just going for a random FSB clock. Thanks for any help.

Well, assuming your memory can handle it, you will always get some performance increase out of additional memory bandwidth (a.k.a. speed!). Try it out!

Use a program like Sandra Lite to test memory bandwidth.
