Like I told you in your previous thread located here, the nForce4 boards weren't exactly desireable when it came to overclocking. However, the 680i and 650i based boards are. I think you'd be satisfied with a P5N-E SLi provided you don't intend to use dual 8800 cards in SLi as the bandwidth is limited ti 8x with two cards, as there will be alight drop in performance due to the saturated bandwidth. Single card configuration will allow for full 16x bandwidth though.

I've hit 3.75Ghz on air with my 680i and am able to run at 3.6Ghz 24/7. Unless you plan on forking out silly money for cooling the 650i/680i will yeild the same clocking results as a 965x board.

I found the same one a few days ago, but please note... this is OPEN BOX OEM, which means you may or may not get some of the stuff that originally came with it. Im not sure how the Egg handles stuff like that, but make sure you know what you are and ARENT getting.

A lot of people need SLI. I do. Anyone with a large monitor does if they want a high resolution with visuals. Not everyone games at 12x10. I game at 1900x1200 - If I didnt have Crossfire I'd be kinda stuck with crap.

As far as board, definitely a P5B, P5W, anything Asus.

I sort of glance to this type of threads and when I see someone wanting info on buying an nForce chipset? I won't even bother, that's why I don't even post that much anymore either.

People that owns AMD systems and want a C2D, are always (unfortunately) looking for nForce chipsets because that's what they're familiar with. They don't know the powah of the dark side and when it comes to overclocking? Intel Core Logics are the best.........but it goes in one ear and it goes out the other, so why bother?
I'm not saying nForce 6xx aren't good, it's just that there's always something better.

Exactly my point. SLI with G80s? You better have at the very least a 30" LCD display to take full advantage of that, otherwise it's like buying a $500,000 surround-sound home theater system and hooking it up to a 27" TV, go figure!

ASUS P5B-Plus, ASUS P5B-Deluxe and ASUS P5B-Premium are the top choices for C2Ds.

And I have a feeling that "IF" DFI were making boards with 650i and 680i? Most if not all will buy them and we know how poor is DFI's support for Intel.

But if nForce chispets they want? Let 'em have it.
