thoughts regarding new e6x50 series - Page 3

jman has a valid point. Who cares what they label the chips. There will be chips at a reasonable price (just a bit more than you now pay for an E6600) that have a good multiplier.

There is NO proof that those chips don't overclock well. Lower multi? Fine... but does that matter when they can handle the 600MHz FSB that the new boards supposedly deliver?

And please DO use somewhat correct grammar. I had a hard time reading your posts.

yes i agree with that, but the point i was trying to make with this thread is that the NEW proccessors being released are in my opinion made to limit overclockability. jman was sayin how u can get better stuff, thats true but thats just older chips bumped down in price, not new chips. i was tryin to make a point that intel really didnt make that much of an improvement in the NEW chips in the "e6x50" series. dont get pissed at me for my grammer either cuz this isnt a novel we're righting her, im just trying to get a point accross over here.

My opinion is that Intel names their CPUs according to clock speed. With the introduction of a higher FSB, it's logical that the E6650 will have a lower multi, resulting in a stock speed close to that of the E6600.

Intel doesn't care one bit about overclockability. It's a very small portion of the market... And there is no reason to assume those chips don't overclock that good. My E6420 doesn't clock a lot less than my E6600

I'm trying to make a point, not a novel!!! Why do you guys always rant at spelling. You get the point right?!? So what's the problem.
