HD Videos lag in WMP 11 on Vista 64-Bit, Help Please

Thread Starter
I have had Windows Vista 64-Bit loaded on my PC for about a week now since I upgraded my CPU and Motherboard and Memory from a P4 HT to an E6600.

I loaded Vista 32-Bit on it and everything worked great, however since I now have 4GB of memory I have the 64bit version loaded, everything works fine aside from watching HD movies in Windows Media Player.

If i download HD videos from places like IGN, or Gamespot, or any of them, the videos lag something terrible and cannot be watched because its so bad. But anything thats not as large as HD quality works fine without any problems.

I have checked for conflicts in video and audio. upgraded both to newest drivers. Motherboard has newest drivers. I do not know what else to do.

Any advice?

Are you downloading the videos or streaming them? If you're streaming them, it's probably your internet connection not being fast enough.

Try a different program to play it, like DivX. http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/
That way you know if its WMP , or something else.

Ok I tried the Divx player and I used Media player classic, both of those worked flawlessly. Which means its definetly Media Player 11, any advice?

Thanks for the tip!
