Welcome to Overclock.net! Suggestion, swap out the cpu for a Brisbane X2 3600+. You can OC the brisbane pretty high on air(heard people getting it to 2.7Ghz+ on stock cooling).

Here it is link
It's only $95.20(I've seen it go on sale at ncix for $10 less) as opposed to $300 for the 6000.

Also, the link to the mobo is actually the link to the x2 6000. Must have accidently pasted the wrong url .

I think you meant this one.

I'm not sure how good this board is. But I've heard good things about this board. And it's cheaper than the one you were thinking of(but if someone else can say if the board you had picked out is better than the tforce 550, then ignore me hehe).

Ram, maybe this?

For the PSU, I've heard the FSP Epsilon 700W(link) is good.

Altogether, including the 8800GTS, it comes to $945.92 before shipping, taxes and rebates.
A bit better than the $1332.37 that your setup would cost .

Even if you don't overclock the brisbane 3600, games are more intensive on the gpu than on the cpu(and an 8800gts will do just fine ).

cool thanks for the siggestion guys

the main thing on the cpu is hes pretty sketchy about ocing
and he needs a fairly powerful cpu because were both musicians so be were involved in audio recordings and encoding

the mobo and ramm look like better alternatives

oh and heres the link to the mobo that i messed up
