You're pushing it, but those temps should not affect your hardware. If you're stable at 55C you can stay there - although you should look for a way to lower that temp

SpeedFan works good for me, same temps as RMClock. and CoreTemp. and every other temp monitor i've used

Yeah, I just wanted to make sure it was okay before reseating the HSF + dusting + adding another 120mm fan =P

That temp seems fine its when you get in to the 60's that it starts to get bad and the 70's is when you say good buy.If you look at the specs that intel put out the max temps for thows cpus (at stock speeds)Is safe for 55 to like 65c.I have a mine at max load at 51c on the stock cooling and it is safe up to 70c and is recomended at lunder 60c.

For dual core, yes your temperatures are fine. However it would help if you were a little bit lower. I think I've got those temperatures with my CPU Overclocked @ 1.4v, what heatsink are you using? Stock? If so those are good temps... For the stock heatsink.
