HDD making a clicking noise

just playing BF2142 and i killed someone, then the game froze, pc resets itself, and my hdd starts making a clicking noise, i unplugged the power cable, plugged it back in, its stopped makin the clicking noise but what has caused this, and will ido it again, or it is time for a new hdd (had it about a year now)

the model is samsung sp0411n (40gb IDE)

don't use it !! your hard is dying.... get a new hard drive and create a clone of the old hd before it fails completely. Use Acronis Disk Image

i'll use it til it dies as it only has windows on it, got 2 other drives for everything else

Sounds like the drive got stuck, lol, not a good thing.

Are you sure its the HD making the clicking noise? When I first built my computer I thought my HD was making clicking noises too but a week later I found it was my FDD that was making the noise lol.

I wouldnt plan on having that drive around much longer. If you say there isnt much on it then its no big deal I guess.

positive it was hdd, unplugged the power while it was on and it stopped clicking

was gonna get a sata2 for my main drive anyway.
