I don't like when people think that I'm stupid.
So here is my reason why I'm not using any chemicals or anticorsive aditives (glycol based or alcohol based ....) :

This reservoir crashed because my friend was using alcohol based aditive in his loop

That doesn't make sense... If that is true, then why only did the top crack? Wouldn't the bottom of the res crack first since it is constantly exposed to the chemicals. Also, isn't acrylic non-reactive to alcohol? I think your friend just overtightened his cap.

The green is from the copper. Copper "rusts" green, thus the Statue of Liberty is green, and pennies turn when they get really old.

The top cracked because alachol and water are of different densities. More than likely the mixture sat in the tube for so long that they separated. Once warm/hot water ran through it, it heated up the alachol, evaporating it. Once too much pressure was in the loop.... Pop!

First time I have heard anyone's res cracking from too much pressure. I highly doubt warm alcohol vapors come even close to creating enough pressure to crack acrylic Again, I believe it is user error...
