Its taken care of everything for me. But i hardly ever get a virus, iv actually never had a threat in, well, years. Iv had probably 2 viruses since iv built this rig and each time AVG took care of it and it didnt cause a problem.

That and AVG hardly uses any resources.

If your honestly getting that many viruses, then you need to check out what your doing and stop doing it. I can run Vista (or could) run Vista fine with no anti-virus cuz i stay usually on 2-3 sites i dont normally go web surfing really.

sure.. but kaspersky has auto updates like. by the hour... you dont have to wait like 8 hours or 12 hours to do an auto update. you can set it at 1 hour....

if you dont make sure your av is up to date so long its 2 months old. you earned viruses......

At the computer store I work at we always install AVG and take Norton off the person's computer. I find it to be the best at the moment, but also AVAST is good for when you want to boot up in safemode and scan for viruses.

See, I go to lan parties with people I know. We all shut down our firewalls, because we are not hooked to the internet and we freely trade files with each other, why steal when we'll let each other have whatever the other wants?

It is not the cpu usage, it is the constant bombardment of questions while in the middle of a video game. Half way through Half-life 2 the game locks up, then the window disappears, and a little two line message comes up saying, would you like such and such a program to access the internet. Sorry, but that makes me angry.

I posted because that is my opinion and I was just wondering how everybody else felt. No need to call me a moron.

I have used pretty much all of those. I have kids that seem to know exactly where the virus hang out is. I like Avira, Avast, Spybot S&D, and Adaware SE.

I ran AVG Free version today on a customer's computer, and it pulled 3 viruses off of it and 48 pieces of assorted spyware. I seen this thread the other day and posted that I need to look into this NOD32, so I immediately ran it after AVG and it found nothing that AVG didn't catch. I have yet to be impressed about NOD32 because it did not do anything that AVG has not already done in this instance. I will try again to give it another chance, but if I get the same result, NOD32 is nixed.

NOD32 FTW. Has never let me down, unlike norton, mcafee and other AV's that just suck.

Nod32!!

First thing it did was clearing away a virus that caused BSODs, next thing it did was keeping my system clean

Eset, I am forever thy loyal servant!

It seems like a lot of people are comparing NOD32 and AVG. I for one do not understand this because NOD32 is a trial only version that only lasts a month. AVG is free forever. I don't get the apples/oranges comparison here.
