Plus Avast is free.

As for AVG, I'm not convinced that its up to par with any other virus scanners listed in here. Its fairly resource heavy now, and like others have said, they have a high false-detection rate.
Do you have the suspected trojan available for testing?

I've only had nod32 "miss" one virus, which was an MSN based virus that spread through MSN, however appeared to do nothing at all besides spread over msn. Due to the fact this did not have a truly harmful nature, I let NOD32 off the hook for it.

EDIT: I was obviously not dumb enough to run the virus on my own PC, just tested in a Virtual PC. I still have the file available for testing if anyone wants to see it.

NOD32 ftw. I like how if theres a site with an "onLoad" trojan if you will, it will notify you about it with the option of killing the connection. I tried Norton360. IMHO its fail, I had a few viruses, and once I was bored so I port scanned my PC (from Linux) and had a bo2k on there apparently. I was like "Woah! This can't be right. Put NOD32 back on, haven't been upset about it since.
