I never played BF2 but the first time I picked up BF2142 I was hooked for literally 3 months solid. The game is so much fun. Especially when you start getting good at it.

I was hooked on BF2 to start, then 2142 came out and I forgot that BF2 existed. Now I play them both about the same amount.

2142 has a lot more unlocks and you rank up way faster and much more often.

I think BF2 takes a bit more skill to be good at - flying is especially harder in BF2.

It is tough to recommend one over the other, but I would go for BF2 if I had to choose (get both )
