the logitech G7 is a USB mouse.

I do agree that the mobo may need to be rma'd. Im also considering sending the ram back as well. If possible, id like to fix this issue rather than dodge it.

Agreed, yea its probably just a bad mouse port on the mobo or controller

This is gonna' sound kinda' funny. But does anyone else have access to the computer? You have no idea how many times people have taken screenshots of the screen, then hidden all the icons and dropped the taskbar down to the bottom after setting the picture as the background.

I want to be very specific with whats happening.

after i boot up and get to desktop, i can left click on desktop icons and rightclick on desktop to bring up the menu. I can dbl click on icons and start them.

the start button, task bar and task bar items are irresponsive. when i do start a program from the desktop icons the window itself is irresponsive/ none of the buttons/tabs in that window work or respond, not even the 'x' to close them.

heres the kicker.

everything starts to work all fine and dandy only after I ctr-alt-del and click on that corresponding window. after that everyting worx just fine, untill the next restart????

I cannot find a setting that has anything to do with this. arg

Can you use ctrl+esc to bring up the start menu?

EDIT: Also, what's in your event viewer? (Right click on "My Computer" and go to "Manage", then "Event Viewer", it should have different options.) If you see a lot of Errors, it may be a memory issue.
