Laptop to Take Overseas (warranty?) - Page 7

One other option:

This is the Alienware 15.4" lappy. Granted, it's 15.4", but it's pretty damn thin and light for its size (lighter & thinner than the 15.4" Dell, for example):

ALso, you can choose between an X1400 and a Go 7600. Obviously the 7600 is the better choice, but the X1400 is a good deal.

And one final thing:

Dell always offers an unconditional money-back gauruntee.

If you want, you can buy the dell. As long as you don't abuse it when you first get it, you can always try it out for a day or two and return it if you don't like it.

The only thing that'll cost you is the $20 to ship it back to Dell.

ANd one final, final thing.

I just checked the dell Outlet, and they recently added about 15 different M1210's with Go 7400's.

If you don't mind buying refurbed, you can get a 1GB/C2D/100GB/GO7400 M1210 for $919 with free shipping. You also get the full Dell Warranty with refurbed models.

And, they always replace the casing so the computer looks brand new. And finally, a little secret if you're planning on doing this - buy one wiht Vista on it. You can always go buy a copy of XP for $80 on Newegg, but if you get one from Dell wiht Vista on it you know it was originally built in the last 3 - 4 months since Vista was available - i.e. you know the computer is almost brand new.

Well, I just bought the same rig with a 6-cell battery for my company.

It lasted around 2 hours. So figure 3 hours on a 9-cell.

I know this isn't the best, but it's better than that Asus you liked.

Howeer, keep in mind that the Asus had a MUCH better vid card - the Go 7700.

If you're OK with the X1400, though, then the E1505 is an awesome deal.

Btw, how do you plan on OCing a laptop?

Hey IamtheGtaGuy, and others. I just wanted to thank you all for the input on the laptop. I decided to purchase the Dell Inspiron 1501. Although it has an integrated card, I am planning on only playing older games on it. I did, however, opt for a AMD Turion x2 Processor, 2.0ghz, which I think I will have use for in the furture. As for gaming, I am going to build a rig inside of this case, and (believe it or not) take it with me to Sweden along with an LCD screen.

The Dell offers me everything I wanted (except high-end gaming, which would sacrifice battery life anyway) including:

A 3 year warranty that is valid in Sweden (among other countries)

A 9-Cell battery that offers a juicy 4-5 hours battery life

And, a price of almost exactly 1,000 dollars

You may be a bit skepical about bringing the Qpack box with me...but my brother has done so and now has his mini rig in Greece at this very moment....so it can be done And for just around 700 dollars, I couldn't resist bringing a full-featured (and most importantly, ungradable) gaming rig to Sweden!

I'm using the 1501 right at this moment and it's quite nice....basic, but nice!

Cheers!
