I set mine at 1.375v and see 1.375v in CPU-Z. Same thing with last mobo. If CPU-Z is reporting yours at 1.23v then that's what it's running at in my experience. You might be having a bigger issue.

Also, 1.56v ?
Happens on two different boards I've used. It's very unreliable.

The QX6700 runs at 72+C on stock cooling. (The QQ6600 should run only slightly lower)

The stock cooling on quads are a joke, you need a aftermarket cooler even if you arn't overclocking.

The QX6800 requires watercooling.

As long as you stay under 70C you will be fine.

If you want lower temps you are going to need a high end air cooler + some AS5.

Make sure when you apply the AS5 you apply a LINE, not a dot. The line should go down the middle of the processor.

Make sure you apply the line in the correct direction, check the Artic silver 5 site for pictures.

Murlocke just said it, the stock coolers for C2Qs are a joke.

I was hitting 66C when I tried the stock HSF and crappy TIM Intel provides (so I could have a point of reference when using my water system).

The worst part is I could feel the hot (not warm but hot) air exiting the heatsink and heating every other component around it.

Invest in some after market cooling, after all what 50 bucks for a $600 chip!!

That air cooler has been proven to perform well on the quads. IMO that or a Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme with a high cfm fan are about as good you can get for air cooling the quads.

Keep in mind, the quads will always run hotter than a duo, but it will be a huge improvement over stock.

Ahhh sorry to hear you are still having problems.

It was my understanding that stock cooling should keep you cool enough to run stock settings with a quad core, but maybe not.

What's with that tuniq tower? A new version? Look like they just stuck a LED fan in it lol. That is exactly what i did with mine

Tuniq tower 120 is a good choice though, along with Ultra 120, or water cool that puppy.
